Weaving the shawl

For every artist first comes the inspiration !

For me this time ,there was a beautiful rose in my garden called " Oriental curiosa !

......than I wind up the skeins that will be dyed .....(after dying I have to rewind it again).....

 ......yarn aftrer dying different shades of different colors........

......before starting to weave I have to plan the colors of the warp - otherwise the ondule´ effect

( that I  want to weave ) won´t appear......

(Ondule´ weaving is Japanese  technique, which is rarely used by weavers since is it is very time consuming but it creates an exciting wavy pattern through the fabric.)

.......warping on the mill..... I usually make a warp for 4-5 shawls . On one warp I make different weft( crosswise treads) so that each item is unique and I never repeat it. ....

 ......the warp is done and taken off the mill in a long chain....

 .......now it´s beamed on the loom......

.......after threading all of the 300 warp ends into proper place ......weaving finally !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the and of  the story here is the shawl inspired by the rose many ,many hours ( or days ) ago.
